No difference after can/intake swap

No difference after can/intake swap
I just installed a LS6 intake and a comp 54-408-11 cam and there is no difference. If anything, it might be a little slower!! I know this is a mild cam, but I should notice some more power low end and lots more torque. I have yet to tune it using LS1 edit, I will be doing that weekend. Will the tune really make that big of a difference? I will be really disappointed if I spent $650.00 for nothing! By the way it is a 1999 LS1, TH-350, in a Jeep wrangler! Let me know what you all think!!

When I first installed that 206/212 cam, I could definately feel increased torque from right off idle when I tipped-in the throttle slowly. However, with a quick mid-range tip-in, the engine felt flat. I then hooked up my scanner and saw ignition advance #s around 17-19 degrees during aggressive throttling. I too was initially disappointed by this. I think I didn't give the pcm time to learn the new cam before trying to install the HPP3 tune. About 4 months after installing the cam, I installed 1.85 rocker arms. The rockers woke up the top end. Anyway that's another story.
Anyway, based on track times, the cam only improvements were not imaginary. I picked up close to 0.2 sec & 2-3 mph in the 1/8th mile. I think pulled ignition timing maybe the reason for your disappointment. A good tune would definately wake it up if it is the problem.
Is your drivetrain setup optimally or were you trying to make up for drivetrain deficiencies by making a lowend torquer motor? It could be that the drivetrain is mismatched to the engine ignition curve and all you are getting is knock. I would imagine that the ignition curve for a 4l60e/3.23 geared/26" tire setup would be quite different for your T350 setup. Anyway, my 2 cents.

There is a difference (better, or worse), you just can't feel it.
Take her to the dyno, or track and you'll see what you're missing.
Tunes go a long way. I picked up 22.5 HP at the wheel, my buddy gained
3 MPH and -2 tenths in the 1/4 mile from tuning.

Thanks all!! I made sure the marks lined up perfect on the cam, so I know that is not the problem. I almost think it is a little slower than before. I am now having trouble with it idling, so I am thinking that it has to be in the programming and the pcm just does not have a clue on what to do. I can make it idle better using a Tech 2 and bumping up the idle to about 750 RPM's. Is this too high, or is it about right?
As for the timing, I did not check that at all, and I will have to do that. I have not put it on the dyno yet because I just put it all together. Due to it being a Jeep Wrangler, I want to have the low end torque, so that is why I chose the setup I did. I am not running huge tires, only 35's, and have a 4.56 gear ratio, so I thought that would work pretty good!!
I just hope that a good tune will bring it right to life!! I am having one of my friends that is new to the tuning game tune it for me. Does anyone have a suggestion on a company that would definetly know what they were doing that is around the Saginaw or Flint Michigan area. I might be better of taking it to them and having it done right!!

Even a two degree offset on the centerline angle will mean a few HP difference.

I know this may sound dumb, but I am unsure about checking the timing. I am not used to this new ****. How am I supposed to check and make sure that I did it right? Let me know ASAP please, because I am sure with my luck I did it wrong!! Thanks for the help!!
