OK I used the search link and I have founf my problem, which is the notorious MAF. At first I ported and polished the stock MAF and after a two months I got these codes. Well I then got the Granatelli cold air tuning one and yet still I get those codes. Should I just buy a new stock one and leave it alone? Or will a good tune get rid of them. Keep in mind Hooker LTs and FAST 90 mm are being installed this month. What is your opinion?

P0171 and P0174 are codes that get fired when the
LTFTs remain above +23 for long. Unfortunately for
you, both of the MAF options you've picked are
lean biased (grossly).

In your position I'd be getting a Z06 85mm MAF
since it appears you are getting tuned by someone
else. There are some folks who're closing in on
relatively proper GMAF tables and you might pick
up some info from them (I can't recall who it was,
but might wade through some of the posts here
and on the HPTuners board just looking for "GMAF
table" or such).

Since you already own it, that would be the cheap
way out if you can get someone to provide you (or
your tuner) a valid GMAF cal table.

When you get the LTs on it would be good to have
the rest of the system producing realistic sensor
data. Then you can deal with the headers' codes /
effects, in isolation.

So (JimmyBlue) you recommend keeping the GMAF and getting it tuned? After the LTs and FAST install I am getting a tune. You also said recommended a LS6 MAF, where do I find one of those?

I was looking at the prices for the MAFs on GMPARTSDIRECT.COM and I thought they would be higher. Do you recommend getting the GMAF tuned or getting the Ls6 MAF? either way I am getting a tune I just want to get rid of that DAMN SES light. WHat is the part nuber of the LS6 MAF?

I don't know what the pinout on the GMAF is; you
will need a harness adaptor or a pigtail from a
5-wire car to connect up a Delphi 85mm. If the
GMAF gave you one then maybe you're set. If
not then it's about 30 bucks from Casper's or
Pace to get the right one. I use the Casper's and
a descreened truck MAF I got off eBay (for less
than the adaptor).

The Z06 P/N I've seen is 25341604. There is a 5-wire
connector with a P/N 15306113. I don't know whether
this is pigtailed but I kind of expect so for the $22 price.
You might be better off with SDPC than gmpartsdirect,
as far as delivery. SDPC stocks both of these.

For tuning I think you may be happier with a truck MAF
table (and the Z06 MAF) than the Z06 table. The truck
will make you run slightly richer, baseline but I prefer
that; then adjust your spark and fuel relative to what
that does for air readings. You've already had your fun
with bent-lean.

If you can hook up with one of the folks who've been
trying to get a decent GMAF table then that'd probably
save you some dough. If any of them actually consider
their work done, and clean. But trying to get a by-the-hour
tuner to fix up a table for it, will cost you more than
a known-quantity piece of Delphi hardware I expect.

I would like to thank you for the feedback you gave me, greatly appreciated. Like I was saying I'm going to go with the Delphi sensor and the connector option. Now you said I will also need a tune for that, right? My first thing to tackle is that ses light. Will it go away As soon as I connect the maf and turn it on? once again Id like to say thanks
