Default 2.73 to 3.73 gear?

What all will have to be changed if I go with 373s? I have read some things about changing the carrier. Where can I find the one I need? Also where is a good place to get the gears and install kit? Thanks for any info!!!!!

The carrier will need to be changed or you will need to buy thick gears. Thunder Racing has a gear replacement package on their website. It includes the gears, install kit, gear oil, gear additve and a TA Cover with stud kit for $400. If you use the thick gears, it is $35 more. Then, you will need to change the PCM tuning to accept the new ratio.

Yep what Blacker said. I just did 3.73(I highly recommend it to anyone) and went with Richmond thick gear set, no need to change carrier. The Richmonds whine a little but its not bad. My best mod so far.

Which would be better to change the carrier or get the thick gear? Is it better to do one verses the other?
