Default Well since this is LS1tech, then I need some tech advice.

Looking to upgrade the shortblock the cheepest way.
I used to use APE and my prices were awsome, but they are done and I have a customer needing help.
He just wants to replace the rods, pistons, rod bolts, and rings for the cheepest amount of money possible.
Currently making 425 NA but is going with a larger cam, better heads, better exhaust, fast intake and TB and is shooting for 470.
Just wants peace of mind in the shortblock.
I am going to do as little machine work as possible to cut costs. Using a stock size piston from Diamond, or JE, stock size rod, ARP rod bolts, and new berrings what kind of machine work will need to be done?
Basicially nothing correct?
Just need to hone a little and install all the new parts correct?
This is a very cheep way to add good parts as it will only cost 600 for pistons, 600 for rods, 200 rings, 100 rod bolts which is only 1500 dollars.
What am I missing? And is there extra maching work needed?
Thanks

I guess the easier question is how much money is a normal machine job for 3.989 pistons, and new stock length rods?
I am assuming you only need a hone and balance done.
