Default Broke the **** outta my driveshaft Pics inside and need advise on replacment ds.

I broke my driveshaft a few days ago while racing.. I'm not sure what else broke, the tranny seems to shift fine with teh car off. even though a big puff of smoke came from the shifter area.

Anyways, what drive shaft should i replace mine with? if i go to a steel DS, does it weigh a lot more, i dont think i want that. I've seen some sponsors selling some, but they are all pretty exspensive, i dont wanna spend $300-400 if its not really better than stock. please point me in the right direction.

.
here are a couple pics.

what the hell is that bracket, did that punhc a hole through my floor, or did it come unbolted ???????

Man, I just looked at your set up and your pushing a lot of power for a stock DS.

I got a chromemoly DS which is lighter than steel, but much stronger than the stocker. I paid $340.00 thru APE (sponsor here).

If you want, I will sell you my stock DS (12,000 miles-no hard launches) for cheap.

Isn't that bracket on the torque arm? If so (and as I remember, it is), I suspect that you have bigger problems. It makes me think the torque arm flexed/bent and hit the floor and drive shaft. I'd hammer the hole in the floor "flat" and use a welder or some fiberglass cloth and epoxy to seal it up (whichever you prefer). I don't think a driveshaft alone will fix this problem. I'd take a good look at that torque arm.

that "bracket" is the mount for the V6 2 Peice driveshaft. It lookes as tho the TQ arm shoved up into the tunnel and forced the DS into it. I would recomend a stronger DS and a new TQ arm.

Ouch! Sorry to hear! Just to let you know, I just got a Denny's nitrous ready driveshaft, guaranteed not to break. But, it weighs 20.5 lbs! Not sure what the stock one weighs, but, it's ALOT less. Good luck!

Not sure what the chromemoly weighs in comparison to the steel. I never got a chance to weigh it.

It surely is significantly heavier than the stock aluminum though!

adjustable is worth it, also chrome moly driveshaft seems to be the way to go. You could go with a BMR track pack tq are and let them install it locally.

Hey Havoc. If you ever want a driveshaft I have to say go with the Dennys Nitrous Ready Driveshaft. They cover all the basis with it. They ask you whats the max rpm youll be seeing and they balance it to that rpm. Its a lifetime warranty if anything goes wrong they'll replace or fix it. Its pricey but worth the piece of mind to me. Also on the torque arm. GET THE ADJUSTABLE. It's worth it. Lets you get pinion angle just right.I have spohn. any of them are good though. BMR,Spohn,Random Tech are my top 3 choices.Sorry for the long post

I didn't know bmr installs there compents. thats cool, im gonna call them up here in a little bit. Well, I'm definitley gonna get an adjustable torque arm, i cant get that track pack because i have true duals and i dont think that cross bar will fit. anyways, im still deciding on what kinda driveshaft to get. my 2 biggest concerns on the driveshaft are the weight of it, and the cost. this might be bad, but im really considering just getting another alumn. stock replacement, as what i think happened was i broke my torque arm and it pushed down and against my driveshaft and caused it to mess it up, i dont think the drive shaft failed at all.

I really appreciate everyones input, its very helpfull, thank you!
