Corvette Performance - MTI True Ram Air for C5.

Anyone have this?

How does it install... the web-site says no cutting. It looks like they supply a different radiator shroud which is fine, but I imagaine getting the stock piece out entails a bit of dis-assembly work. My current shroud is already cut because of the Halltec Tric which was on the car before. Problem with that system is that the damn thing gets so filthy, so quick, being so low to the ground and then there's always the issue of sucking water up should I ever get caught in deep water.

If you drive a lot in heavy rain and possible flood conditions you should buy the Donaldson. I have one now but I'm considering a bottom breather. I think it would be worth a tenth over the Donaldson I have now.

I have it on mine. It works well. I live in Houston, and i just carry a towel in the back,and if it is raining hard, just stuff the towel into the bottom, and it collects any water. You lose power, but who needs the power in the rain anyway. It really helps on times at the track when its cool out. My times are in sig, all made with 2.73 gears

As a rule, I don't drive in rain anyway, but I did get caught in a serious storm last time I was making a long trip - had do drive through some pretty deep looking water and my car is lowered(divided highway so I couldn't turn around and go another route). Kindof a wake up call <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> . <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Yes, the MTI ram-air setup comes with a new precut GM shroud. Takes bout 15 minutes to install, its not as difficult as it looks.

And yes, you need to avoid driving in flood water!
