Is this an LS6 intake? Looking at buying a LS6 intake from someone on LS1tech.com here, and have seen ppl saying this is an LS6 intake. Just want a answer from anyone who might know forsure..Part # 12561184

Something about cutting a intake open sounds like it makes the intake not usable, unless this is a term im not familiar with

Actually if you flip the intake upside down and look at the bottem it should be flat on a LS6, and if it kind goes up into the intakes, then dips down in the middle, the goes back up into the intake its a LS1. Do a search for "Ls1 Intake" and "Ls6 intake" Pictures should come up for both.

lol yea pretty much not this actually means cutting it open, as far as the part number they can actually ly about that so if u are concern, vissual inspection is the best way to go, but if u bying it online thats not really and option so u gona have to take ur chances.
I have pictures of the bottem, but dont know what to look for. I have them in an email, I can send to someone if they now what to look for?I dont know how to post the pictures on here.

I just looked at my LS1 intake,and it dips in the center of the intake, face that goes to the engine, and the one I am looking at is flat, so LS6?

I have a 2000 WS6, what am I going to have to do for the LS6 intake?I can use any intake whether EGR or not because its not needed correct?This one does not have the EGR adaptor.Do I just plug and hide the cord, or can I remove the whole dang thing?I also heard about the map sensor and coolant line being different, any ideas?

i SWEAR to god i just put on a new intake that was like the one on the right, flat bottom. BUT, it came from a 2000 Trans Am stock, AND has the EGR port. i am 99.9% positive it was flat bottom cause i remember looking at it and thinking about the posts i had seen that made mention of the flat bottom

Anyone heard of LS1 intake flat?SOunds like by the looks of this forum post that the ls1 has the curve, and the LS6 is flat. Any idears?Mine is a 2000 and the intake has the dome to the bottem, so yea.

Here are some numbers that I have gathered:
LS6: 12573572; 88894339; 88890523; 12561184
LS1: 12560688; 12556333;
Endres book calls out P/N 12561182 for 2001-2002 LS1 but since I haven't actually seen one of these manifolds I can't say one way or the other whether it is a large runner (LS6) model or not.
SlowZ28...if the manifold that you installed was an LS6-style then you would have had to replace the coolant lines that run under the LS1-style manifold. If you look at the photo of the two manifolds you will see that the one on the left, the LS1 unit, has the marks in the brown foam from the coolant lines. The LS6 model does not allow enough space for these lines and therefore must have the rear water outlets/crossovers in the heads blocked off...only the front outlets are used.

i already have the coolant tubes installed from when i had the motor swapped i got those right away cause i was putting on an LSX FAST intake. right now after the winter mods, i'm just putting a buddy's 2000 T/A intake on for the time being cause i'm getting antsy to drive it
