I've never known what a a4 runs compared to a m6 with the same mods
Also what gains are seen by a shiftkit , transgo to be specific ?

For drag race A4 is the best way to go. I've not been able to hold my own against cammed and long tubed 6speeds on highway races but I can easily take them at the track.
If your wanting a very strong auto with lockup/od contact Yank. I believe they are starting to offer complete kits for 4L80E installations. HPTuners or LS1edit should be able to rewrite the pcm for the 4l80e

with the proper converter to work with a lower gear (3.23-3.42) you can run a th400 all day long at reasonable RPMS
i have a 3.70 gear and cruise at 3000 rpm at 70mph highway speeds.
not the greatest, but i put up with it.
A4's just cost too much to hold power, IMO.

why isnt it a great street car? you can shift a 6 spd, why cant you shift an automatic.
and i did suggest a different gear to keep the RPM;s down.
i know at one point yank offered a converter that worked with 2.73-3.08 gears for daily drivers.

you can upshift or downshift at any time. the valve body flows fluid either way.
pretty much a manual, just no clutch, and you are missing a few gears, LOL.

i dealt with ~3k rpm @ ~80mph with 3.73..
to lose 10mph on the freeway keeping same rpm
but to gain A TRANSBRAKE
oh.. i may stick with automatic after all..
and isnt there an add on for a forth gear?
by gear vendors or something?
what stall is that converter, btw?

It is very expensive though. New units push $2k.
