Default 150 shot no a stock car?

Ok I just bought an NOS dry set up. The kit is set up for a 150 shot, it has 038 jets in it. The person I got it from said he ran it on a stock car with just a lid and cat-back with no problems at all and he said his car ran an 11.88, did not see any slips or anything because it was not really a big deal to me.

Ok to my ? is a 150 shot too much to run on a stock car with lid and cat-back or will I be OK ?

My car is an 02 Z28 that runs 8.40s in the 1/8 what would it run with a 150 shot if ok to run that shot ?

This is the 5177 dry kit I asume? Dual .038 jets are only a 125 shot. That will work with the stock fuel set up but if you run much more than that, you'll be running out of injector.

And yes, stock long block LS1s like nitrous.

Yes it is the 5177 dry kit. I did not get the manual with it so I did not know what size shot the jets were so I took his word for it. But thanks for the info, I can't wait to get it bake to the track and see what it will do.

IMO I won't go more than 100hp jets with the dry, while you should be fine at 150hp, I never felt comfortable at that number with only a dry kit, but if you look around on here there are tons of people running it and not having any problems. Hopefully you don't have shitty luck like me, because if you do I would take some precautions and get the extras to make it a wet system. Those numbers 11.88 sound about right, I went 11.99 with my 150shot and lid+cat back, but I have my window switch delayed so I get through 1st gear with out spraying, but if you spray off the line you should get around 11.8 or so, depending on your tires, and if your 10 bolt doesn't fall out of the car. Good luck with it though.

One more thing, NOS rates at the crank so the dual .038's (correct as stated) is 125hp at crank or 106.25 at the rw using 15% drivetrain loss. true 125rwhp would be one .042 and one .043=125.375rwhp. True 150rwhp would be one .048 and one .049=151rwhp. The reason they rate conservative is to keep people from going lean and causing problems, so upgrade/tune for what you like.

Where exactly are you getting this info? Those jettings are way the hell off base.

Not to get your hopes up, but I have Lid, cat back(with no cats) and MT radials, and a VERY good tune, THATS IT, and do 11.1 at 122 with a 150 shot. I launch out of the hole on the bottle, never had any problem. I have a 5177 kit, but redid it so its a single nozzle, not a dual nozzle, for hiding purposes.

Do you have the stock rearend in the car and is it an A4 or M6, my car is an A4 but it runs and dynos good with just the lid and cat-back it is running 8.4s at 89 mph in the 1/8th and put down 310/340 on the dyno with just a lid and from what I have seen that is big for an A4 car. So I will be happy if I get an 11.999
I want to skip the 12s all together. I just don't want to brake anything!!

When I had my nitrous set up as a single shot, with a pair of .036 jets I gained 119 to the wheels. With the .038s I put down over 500 to the wheels. My car is only a bolt on car that makes 351 n/a to the wheels.
