Default Bubbles on the oil dipstick....help!

Well i checked my oil tonight and there is little bubbles on the dipstick, i did a cam/oil pump swap about 3000 miles ago and this is the first time i've seen bubbles in my oil, so i didnt think it could be the pick-up tube o-ring, or is there a way it could have become dislodged? the oil pressure is good, just have some bubbles, the car is also running hotter, by alot, could these be related??

no, i checked it for that, and the coolent is oil free, if the pick-up tube ring was pinched/damaged wouldnt my oil pressure be alot lower?? i checked it while it was running which i doubt that makes a difference, im getting tired of this thing, any other ideas?

this is true, if the pick up was pinched you pressure would be down quite a bit.
hmmmm....are you experincing blow bye at all?
i dont see how you having bubbles on your dipstick could be related to your overheating, but its a possibility, what is the temp. its running at, and did you use a oem oil pump?

Just some other possibilities. How are your driving habits with the car? Had you made a few quick trips without it making it up to operating temps before you checked the oil. If so, you will show some moisture in the system because the PCV system hasn't had time to evacuate it.

Since your car is a 98 and is getting up there in miles. It wouldn't hurt to check out your radiator fins. They could have a good amount of "junk" stuck to them thus not allowing the car to cool correctly.

I would look into having an air pocket in the cooling system, try bleediing it out again.

i ran it with the cap off until it got hot, then i shut it off and let it settle down and topped the rad. off. ran it again with the cap on, let it get up nice and hot and then turned it off and refilled the rad, careful taking the cap off if its hot, i had air in there so it wasnt a big deal. then i just kept doing that on and off. i had no problem, time went by fast i would just go to the rear and listen to the exhaust lol

it could just be condensation in the oil. just try to change the oil, flush a fresh quart through it with the plug out and then put the plug in and fill her up. might just have some **** in there

I hope you found the problem and it was an easy fix. But why would air in the coolant make bubbles in the oil? Could it be a blown head gasket? Maybe check your plugs and look for anything unusual. Good luck

Do you think maybe you accidentally put too much oil in....
Too much oil in an engine will cause it to foam up and you will burn up your rod bearings.
