Default Does the torque arm amplify gear noise?

Just wondering -- heard this from a local speed shop who told me that Richmond Gear will not do any warranty replacement of their gears for noise when installed in a torque arm rear suspension car. They claim that the torque arm acts like a big "tuning fork" and magnifies any noise in the rear end.

Richmond also stated that 9 out of 10 gears installed in one of these torque arm setups will make noise. I still have the stock exhaust and I like my car to be quiet when cruising around, so I am sure to hear any rear end noise.

Kinda puts a damper on my urge to put 4.10s in the 10-bolt for some fun.

It is true to a certain extent, but more so from the fact that it transfers the noise closer to the passengers. Also the fact that these are hatchbacks doesnt help either, all the noise is right under the passenger compartment.
