i had that issue on a customers car once. i believe there was a lip on the center of the wheel, we grinded the lip off and they fit normally after that. the hub on the rear was the same size as that lip

Yep just grind a little on the hub opening on the wheels untill it slips on easy. Doesn't take much work at all.

I had to do the same thing with my car on my old wheels.

I just used a 3 inch 80 grit "flap wheel" on the WS6 rims I bought for my 94 TA. Put it on a cordless drill, and a minute later, voila, the rims went on. I just took barely enough off to get the rim to go on and fit the axle snug.

I would drive around with them on untill the wheels warmed up. Then spray some penitrating oil and get a rubber mallet and work around the tire untill it pops off.

Yep, just a little grinding around the centers.
I used a Dremel.

Loosen the lug nuts a little and let the car down on the tire. Weight of the car should break it loose.
