Daily driver, especially with 3.73 gears (wont feel as loose), will get by just fine on a Super Street Fighter 3500. If you do alot of track visits along with your street driving, 3800 would be a better choice. If you rarely drive the car or go to the track all the time, 4000+.

I totally agree with all above. Have had a SSF3500 for a couple years and IMO its great for street/strip use. The stall really woke the car up. Did a 12.5@108 1.7 60' with just the headers and stall. I added a cam and 3.73's this winter which woke it up even more. Now just to get the new combo out to the track.

thanks a lot that looks like a converter that i will never have to replace as well(not to many problems) thanks a lot,but it is showing on tci's site that there is a 10 inch lock up or a lock up 4000 rpm stall speed. What is the difference?

i am beginning to think you did not get the answer you were looking for- i am not familiar with the "breakaway" converter, but i can comment that i loved my tci 3800- they make that with a regular 10" lockup clutch, 12" lockup clutch (oversized at least i forget the exact measurement) or a multi-disk lockup clutch, which i was running the multi-disk and reccomend that.

it is extra $ but well worth it, and with the multi- disk you will pretty much never have to worry about the converter having any trouble, only the transmission (which is a given on a modified car)
