HP tuner question (A4 - T56 swap)
I am swapping from an A4 to T56. I have a .bin from a 2002 M6. Can I just re-write the PCM using the VCM flash (even though they have diff operating systems A4 vs M6) or do I need to have the dealer re-flash the PCM first to get the correct operating system installed on my car first and then reflash it with the M6 .bin (to tune for my cam).

the best idea is to find an M6 cal of same operating system as your A4 cal, that way you know for sure the operating system is valid for your application and accessories fitted (although with fbodies the risk is low).
Also if you do find an M6 cal with same operating system you only need use the normal and 100% safe "Write VCM" option and don't need to worry about changing the VIN back etc.
If you can't find a bin file for your swap application email us and we will try to help out although Horists site will most likely have what you need.
