Today i was downshifting into second doing about 35 mph. I had it revved to about 2.5k because i was gonna let out the clutch and floor it. But as soon as i put it into second, all it did was made a metal on metal grinding sound. I put it in neutral, and then put it in third, but when i let out the clutch it just made that grinding sound again. Then i put it in first tried to go, but it did the same thing. I got out looked under my car didnt see anythign, so i tried to get moving again. I barely gave it gas and let the clutch out really slow and it went. I drove to my friends house in first gear with no problems, but i also never gave it much gas at all. So i know its prob. def. something with the transmission, but what do you all think it could be? Also should i go ahead and get whichever shop i take it to, to put in a new clutch and flywheel and all that while the transmission is out?
