I didn't read the whole article, but it seems that it's going waaay deeper than it needs to (that's probably why I didn't read the whole thing). Anyway, all you've gotta do is disconnect or interrupt the antenna wire coming out of the radio with a switch. If memory serves, that wire is pink. When the power antenna sees voltage on that pink wire, the antenna goes up. When the voltage is removed, the antenna goes down - simple as that. No need for disconnecting the battery, dismantling the harness, adding relays and all that jazz. I've done it several times as an installer, and have always offered a lifetime warranty.

Why make things more difficult than they've gotta be??

k, that was pretty much a waste of time. well, kinda. only CD works with it down. I was hopin that CD and Sirius would work with FM/AM antenna down! did i do sumthn wrong? y does Dirius need the FM/AM antenna to work?

I hated the fact that the antenna was up during cd player, and I never ever use the fm/am radio. So I just disconnected the antenna, just get access to it, as if you were getting out the spare tire, and you should be able to figure out which cable to disconnect.

right, but when the Antenna is down, my Satellite radio doesnt work. i thought my satellit radio worked off of its own antenna?

How is the Sirius unit powered?
* It sounds like the antenna turn-on wire is what was tapped into to provide power. That is the wrong way to do it. Some aftermarket headunits lower the antenna when not using the tuner.
* The unit can get power from the same source as the headunit. A wiring diagram is available in the FAQ at the top.
* My XM unit came with long wires and I tapped into the constant and switched power wires leading into the headunit (switched for running power and constant for memory). I grounded the ground wire to the same bolt to which the antenna ground wire is grounded.
