What gears do i have? Hey. I have a 99 Trans Am. Any clue what gears i have i nthe rear end? Thanks

ok, i looked at the sticker on my door and found GU5 on the second row, 4th from right? This the correct spot. if so i have 3.23's correct? IS this good for drag or whats it do better than the 2.72s or aftermarket higher gears? Thanks

You have 3.23's. The 3.23's are a tad better than the 2.73's for drag racing. It allows the car to accelerate faster and the rpm's won't drop between gears as much. The 2.73's are good for top speed. If a gear is numerically higher, it will accelerate faster like 3.73's or 4.10's.

I see you have a Stall in the plans fo rthe near future, I would honestly do 3.73's first. The stall is nice but I personally liked the street manners of all my other cars that I had 3.73's in. This is the only car I did a stall first and granted I love the performance gain but I would deff do gears first. I know everyone is gonna rant bout the stall now but I have a 3200 stall with a 2.7 STR. I just wish I did the gears first as stated.
