Question Wet shot & Fast 90MM? Maximum safe shot?

Hello,

I've got 2 "fogger" type nozzles going in as a wet shot now. I've heard on some forums people saying that there are issues with puddling with the Fast manifolds and that's why they have direct port holes already?

Anyone have an idea what a safe shot is?

FYI, engine is forged, hi compression.

Thanks!!

IMO I don't think you'll have any problems with puddling as long as you spray over 3000 rpms to keep up air velocity.

no problems here with a TNT wet 150 shot, that actually nets me 225 rwhp gain!

Thanks for the info guys!

Sounds like I have nothing to worry about.

What about octane issues? For those of you high compression and a decent shot, do you run race gas or additives?

Additives aren't worth the money or effort. What they are referring to is raising octane in tenths of points. So to say it raises 4 points really equal 4 tenths.

How high of compression and how big a shot? Even w/o that answer, the safest bet is always getting a wideband reading and spray at 12-1 a/f and under.

Compression is about 11.4 or so. I'm more or less getting worried about timing. Does the stock knock sensor give readings at full throttle? Will it retard timing on its own?

Sorry for all the questions.. I just don't want a BOOM

ForceFed,
If you have access to a dyno that can take wideband readings you'll get the highest comfort level and know exactly what's going on. If you can't go that route, a conservative approach would be to pull a couple of degrees of timing, mix some 100 or 104 in the tank, run off a window switch and call it a day (assuming you're running no more than a 150 shot).
