I have a 579 lift cam and want to put a 1.8 RR but will i be safe with my 918's? If not how long can I get away with this? What will it hurt? Thanks

You can run into PTV clearance issues.
IMO if you want a little more lift, go with 1.7 Crane "variable lifts" rockers. You'll gain down low in the lifts without affecting your ptv up high.
Cranes start at 1.79 ratio>.200/.300 where they go to 1.72, then back > 1.79 at closing.

Crane's PDF showed the results for an aggressive SBC shaft rocker system. The claims for the individual rollers seem more nebulous. It seems that the ratio advantage is gone by .200 lift and going down rapidly from .100 to .200. Also, PTV is likely to be an issue at .100 lobe lift, just where the Crane rockers a struting their stuff.

You will need to check PTV...as many posts have shown. However, I would spring for a T&D or Jesel adjustable shaft rocker.
