Default Why is my car faster when launched in 2nd, or 3rd?

My car seems to mph, trap, and 60ft better when left in 2nd or 3rd.Can anyone explain this to me? Not sure why its running better but here is the info.

1/8mile runs after a 45 minute cool down after arrival.
All 3 launches dead hooked

Run 1- 1.66 7.55 93.74 left in 2nd from launch till it hit the rev limiter a few yards past the 1/8th mile. Then right back around for run two.

Run 2- 1.73 7.68 92.68 left in OD from launch till the end of the 1/8th mile. then hot laped it back again for the third and final run.

Run 3- 1.68 7.62 93.48 left in 2nd from launch till the end. Allso the car was running a little hot on this last run, But clearly you can see the diffrence between the 3 runs.

I've heard the same thing. What I don't understand is weather you launch the car in Drive or Over Drive It still leaves in 1st gear right? Can someone explain the difference to me.

Thanks Jeff

You have more line pressure in the lower gears, allowing for faster shifting.
