Default warning light?

lately, my "change oil" light has been coming on every time i start my car, and it stays on for about 2 minutes, and then it goes away. Its a 2001 SS and i've had it for about 2 weeks. It started about 4 days ago. I checked the dipstick and oil looks clean (not dark at all), and is in the "okay" range. Any ideas? Its boggeling my mind and i'm wanting to make sure its nothing serious or something that needs a major fix

If you don't reset the light when you change your oil, it will come on at times when the oil shouldn't be changed. It comes on depending on mileage and driving style. Also FYI, you can't tell anything by looking at the color of your oil.

Or turn key to the "run" position, butdo not start the motor. Floor and release the gas pedal three times. This will reset the oil light without reseting the trip odo.
