Default plastic behind a billet grille

i know most people paint it, but do they paint it gloss black or flat black? also will i need the sand down the factory paint or can i just spray right over that? thanks!

Mine looks like flat black, you shouldn't have to sand down.

I had mine done in semi-gloss, but that might as well be flat

I would leave it red to see what it looks like. I like the way it looks on a white car with it left white. If you decide to paint it, id lightly sand it with a 400 grit paper, just to scuff the surface and allow the paint to adhere better.

I painted mine with semi gloss trim paint. First I cleaned it and sanded it with 400 grit paper.
