Default How Can I tell if I need a new rear?

Lately, my car has been getting some loud noises and thumps from what seems to be the rear. Every time I am turning at all, I hear and feel huge clicks, and you can almost see the wheels at the rear moving with the clicks. It used to happen only when turning left and accelerating, now it does it in both directions, wether Im accelerating or not. It sounds and feels horrible. I want to know if this is indicative of a bown rear end, because I dont want to spend all that money if it could be a different problem. What do u guys think?

I think it's pretty safe to say that your posi unit is shot. Pull the cover off and check it out.

I'm with Harley, I'd put my money on a toasted posi unit.

I found it easier and more cost effective to find a complete rearend and just swap it out. I found one for $180. It will get me by until I have enough bread for a 12 bolt.
