What kind of speed is your computer? My tuning laptop seems
to have a hurt serial port (see "Underdrive Pulley Fried My
Laptop") since it's still dropping comms with my fixed EIO
cable, but my "work" laptop runs fine. Concerned that the
slow (266MHz) tuning laptop might be challenged to keep
up with USB resource demands, though it has a USB port.
What's the cheapest PCMCIA - DB9 serial card out there?

This one is recommended by B&B Electronics but pricey. Excellent response and service from this company.

This one is cheaper at NewEgg. NewEgg is reputable too. Search for "RS-232 Serial PCMCIA Cards"

Both cards could very well be made by the same company, since both sound the same but are spelled differently.
