how much more gain from ported LS6 heads from ported LS1 heads?

Default how much more gain from ported LS6 heads from ported LS1 heads?

is it worth the extra $$$? if i have them both milled extra .03, will there be a difference between the final compression ratio? thanks.

Of course there will be a noticable gain, but its only worth it if you have the proper cam/supporting modifcations to help. Generally as a rule of thumb, the 243 casting's(ls6) will show about a 10rwhp gain over 241 castings(ls1) Now, add in the size of the camshaft, lift, etc. So the gains are def. worth it if you pan everything out right. Now, with the 243's being milled, they will definatley way out-perform the ls1 heads because of the added compression(ls6 heads raise compression by about a half of a point, so milling would only further the gains)

Also 02 up LS6 heads if thats what you have, will have lighter valves so it will rev higher better and easier, not sure if you are keeping stock valves or not, also dont know how much will benefit from that but....

From equal stage LS1 to equal stage LS6, you are looking at anywhere between
10>20 rwhp.

looks like its not the extra $1200 MTI wants.
i ordered stage 2e ls1 milled .03 with stealthII cam .224/.220 .581 116lsa
with ls6 intake and pulleys. already got LG long tubes w/off road x pipe and borla catback, with vortex ram air. shooting for 400rwhp with a tune on my auto vette.

if u got the lg longtubes on ur vette, ur already steppin in the right direction I think you will smash ur goal and hit around 415-420 locked

Yeap, I got that cam in my Z and made 404/383 almost cam only A4.
I'm getting a set of PRC stage 2.5 5.3's, so we will compare setups.

410>420 hp is great. i am so excitedi cant wait to get the parts.
so you guys like the head/cam package i picked out among the other mods?
the car sounds sick with the LG long tubes. they were worth every penny i spent on them, great fit and finish.
i will be driving the car about 180 miles to get it tuned, you guys think that will be ok? or should i trailer it?
