You are gonna need a lot of stall like 4000 or better and a really good tune and some gears. Do a search and you will see the light.

You need a converter. Minimum to get any real use out of it would probably be ~4k stall speed, 3.73's and a good tune.

Wow, running a TR230 without a stall? I don't even want to know what that'd be like off the line. As everyone else says, you NEED a stall and gears. Without a stall, you car would barely even run/idle with the T-Rex. It's a badass cam, but it definitely needs other mods with it to be effective.

better get the other mods first like everyone says before and put the trex in there.if I was you go with a 4400 depends if you d/d drive it or not.you can do a search on that one.good luck.

I don't have any experience with A4s, but I ran my T-ReX with stock gears for more than a year. Obviously, that wasn't ideal, but I did it, and I still enjoyed the cam.

My buddy is running a t-rex with 2.73 gears, but he has a 3800 stall . Ran a 12.0 @117 i believe, with a 1.7x 60ft. It could realy use larger gears though.

Its not that bad of the line,I have 3.73 gears and it spends the Mickey Thompsons till about 3,100rpm in 1st. I know I need a stall but its a daily driver and I really dont want to go over a 3,500. Thanks for the advise guys

i think you'd be fine if you had a 3500 stall w/ a 3.73 gear. and to the guy that said he ran the cam w/ his m6 car w/ stock gears for a year.... manual cars are much easier to deal w/ big cams. an automatic you can't jsut rev the motor up a little higher and slip the clutch a little more. stock stall + big cam = BOG!

really you should consider just getting a stall for the setup you have.

i ran the tr 230/224 for a while and it can run some killer times (mid 11's at 119 mph in my car). of course i had all of the supporting mods to go with it. which is essential to running fast times.

put a stall in the car and it will be a completely different animal.

Trex needs more than a 3500 stall. Hell, my MS3 needed more than that to show any of it's potential. You could get away with the Trex on a 3500 but it would be stupid, IMO, to put a Trex on a <4000 stall.
