This is what it takes on the dark side 89 Mustang 351W, stock weight with full interior
Edelbrock RPM intake and RPM heads 75mm TB
77mm MAS
BBK long tubes with 1 3/4 primaries
Motorsport A351 flat tappet cam: 236-244 duration at .5
max lift 5.19-5.28
5psd and 4.10's in stock rearend (a copied Chevy 12 bolt)
Stock crank, rods, pistons, producing 8.8 to 1 compression with chosen heads
Exhaust cut outs (worth about .06)
short belt
home made ram air protruding through opening for headlight (it helps)
11.69 at 117 on ET Streets with a 1.55 60ft
Do I qualify? This might be interesting as an anecdote

Yes. Stock compression on a 351 is 8.1 with 69cc heads. The Edelbrock RPMs have 60cc chambers = 8.8

That's a wicked fast car you got there, bud... saw it first hand during the races. 
If I could get my 60' down a bit (switching from 4.11s to 4.30s in the near future) you and I could have a hell of a race...

I am interested in seeing your car more closely. It would be informative if you could explain your list of mods and I could see the application in front of me. It looks as though our cars have a near identical power-to-weight ratio.
Could you get a shorter tire rather than change gear ratios? It might be cheaper, and if it doesn't help, you have more options.

As for a shorter tire, I'm on 26" ET Streets right now, can't really go with a much shorter tire than that... and the gear set is pretty cheap, can be had for around $200 for a new set. Gears seems to be the easiest and cheapest way to overcome the slight bog I have about 30' out after the launch... seems to be a flat spot right there.

Will do... my CCC number is T41 (NW F-body) if you want to look me up at the next CCCA race. My race weight is probably around 3800 or so with me in the car if I do my math correctly.
