Default Stock M6 Trans rating

Does anyone know right off what horsepower a stock M6 tranny is good for?

i think they are rated from the factory at 450 lb.ft but i can see from many forum's members that this tranny with proper clutch can handle much more.

I agree with you. Factories tend to be conservative in their ratings. I was just wanting to know because I want to try some more mods and wondering how far I can take it on the stock M6 tranny.

Thanks for the info.

Damn!! You are a long ways away....Kuwait??

The first thing that goes usually is the slider keys in the 3-4 synchro, as well as the 3-4 shift fork... other than that, the T-56s are fairly stout.

Transmissions do not care what HP you have. They only see torque. The synchronozer issues also have nothing to do with HP( OR torque) they only see RPM differential. If you drive it sanely, it will last quite well as was stated above. If you insist on attempting wheel stands or allowing the wheels to hop under totque, you will trash more than just the trans.
