Default Guys running huge cams...

Im getting ready to put in a Joe. O custom cam...I was wondering what kind of valve springs, ratainers you all were using and push rods aswell?

An help would be appreciated. I can post cam specs later if need be.

I have a huge hydraulic cam in a 408 but i'm using manley Nextek springs (.639 .646 lift on my cam). Comp hi-tech pushrods as well.

How big is that? Why not comp 921's?

Either/or. I don't really know what people with cams that big run, but mine is .609 on the exhaust size and PRC duals are just fine, 921's would be even better and are rated to something like .650.

I initially had AFR springs in there, but my engine builder said they wouldn't hold. He told me Manley springs were some of the best so that's what we used.

Actually when I read your thread I read right past where it said manley and only saw the word nextek.

From what I"ve seen there's nothing wrong with manley, but money no object I think I'd get 921's.

PRC's are fine with me, mine isn't exactly huge thouhg. .598 intake .595 exhaust.

I am using crane duals my cam has a .638 lift

Comp 918's, Ti retainers, TSP hardened pushrods on .603" intake and .600" exhaust...no problem.

right at .700 intake and exhaust. Using Isky Gold Stripes (1.550 diameter) -- however its not exactly a drop in spring Required me to make custom locators, and some creative machining

I'm nearly .650" lift and some pretty aggressive lobes with these things...

it's a 244/248 .635/.627 112 +4 nitrous cam in my 6.0 bored .060 over
