Default tring to pick up more torque...

alright fella's here's the deal...when i got my car tuned/dyno'd it made 415rwhp/380rwtq....mods in sig but ill give you a run down:

MTI lid
Stock TB
Stock LS1 intake
TEA 5.3-1.5V2
FMS F14
Stock pulley
QTP LT's
ORY
GMMG

thats the most important to list...my question being, i feel my tq is alil low...my goal is to have around 400+rwtq...will a 90/90 combo and pulley get me to my goal? im just wondering how much that LS1 intake is really suffercating my car, and negleting power...thanks for your help

Get an intake.

I gained 43 rwhp with LS6 intake/pulley. Pullies are worth ~10rwhp, which leaves ~33rwhp from the intake alone, and the torque/horsepower curves were both MUCH smoother and wider. With heads I'd venture you guess you might gain even more. I don't know if you will gain a lot of torque, I only gained 12 rwtq because most of the restriction was at higher rpm, but you should get a nice power boost anyway.

A 90/90, an UD pulley and a razor sharp tune should get you above 400 rwtq. What's your static compression ratio and what is the installed intake centerline of your cam?

Did a search, and came up with little on my needs

https://ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1932650

Has anyone simply installed a set of underdrive pullies on their car and dyno'd
any decent numbers at the wheel (No other mods, or tune)?

Have you had any trouble with the charging system, or electronics after
installing the U/D set?

Thanks.

Dynoed pulleys half a dozen times and while the rwhp gains are 5-10 rwhp, depending on vehicle, the gains are ALWAYS a tenth at the track or a full car length when racing from a roll. The gains when racing are what count in my book.

^^^What he said.

Pulley may not show up on the dyno but is pretty much proven to be 0.1/1mph. (in the 1/4)

Surprising the pullies wouldn't show a positive gain across the entire band
on the dyno.

So 2/2 in favor of pullies, and no electrical problems with a slower turning
alternator?

Sounds good so far.
