these HPT vs Flashcan threads are almost as bad as "what cam, catback, header, tranny, ect" should i get threads that get posted daily...

FWIW i've got HPT but i like EFI's scanner better.

No contest in my book, HP TUNERS hands down.

They have only been around for just over 1.5 years and they have had more advancements/updates in that short time than any other package out there. They have come a long way for us LS1 guys.

When Ver 2.0 comes out (hopefully this month) it will be the standard in tuning GM engines....

HPTuners and updates hahaha you have got to be kidding me. I have both packages and use Live for scanning and flashing. I hope people on these forums do research instead of listening to the person that says "hey such and such uses this it must be the leet ****" . EFI101 uses EFILive to teach students about tuning GM vehicles that should say enuogh . I got my compare feature. Live has added more features in the last month than HPTUners has done in the last 6 . Updates and custom Os's are free for the life of the program and they commit to dates, if they slip we are second to know not "its comming guys please be patient." *800

This is my personal opinion as I have owned LS1 Edit, HP Tuners, and FlashScan. From personal experiences, there is only one package that is worth the money, FlashScan. Download the Demo of FlashScan so you can see how it compares to HPT, well, that won't work cause HPT dosen't have a free Demo you can try.

I have seen the beta version of HP Tuners V2.0 and its so bitchin it does not even look like the old 1.7 version, It has so many new features that it just plain kicks A-- As far as not having a demo version who cares because you can't use it anyway. HPT has alot of screenshots. Why download a non working version of anything ? And I also have used LS1 edit, EFI Live and HP Tuners, and I guess we have now turned this thread into a my dick is bigger then you dick contest. I say HPT rules

At the rate HPT is going another F-body will be released before 2.0 hits the streets.

A demo version lets you "TRY" the product to see how it feels in your hands. Would you marry a woman you never had sex with only to find out she didnt fit like a glove, despite her telling you it was tight as an 18 yr old virgin

As far as I am concerned, 2.0 isn't out yet and until then, its pointless. If we compare what is out now between HPT and FlashScan, besides the licensing, they are comparable to an extent. Sure, HPT will release 2.0 with the new Camaro and then we will be able to tune LS2's.

I think whoever is in the market for a scanning/tuning package, needs to look very hard into what each has to offer and best suits that person. Some would be better with HPT some with FlashScan. Its all about personal preference. Some like Chevy, some like Ford.

Nope it is comming soon. You have to remember HPT had a year and some change before Live released their package and as far as I am concerned until I get 2.0 in my hands NO ONE HAS A PACKAGE that deals with the LS2 we keep hearing about it but nothing has materialized...

Wait, are you saying the serial HP tuners cable will datalog the can stuff?

Or do that have a USB cable that does for sale today?

I know thier 2.0 with USB will do that, but if its not available, its not an option yet.

Ryan.

this thread is done... first "who's the best" thread in recent months that's turned into this....

ChevyMan ... both are great for what they done (leaps and bounds beyond LS1Edit . if anyone from carputing ever bothered to show their faces here..... it would be very interesting...)

I use HP Tuners on my TA and GTP and like it... but at this point... search the boards for both, go to each's forum..

If threads continue like this one going forward .... I will begin locking them as soon as I see them ...
