Default Setting preload?

Someone wanna run through setting the preload on the lifters for me real quick. My heads are milled and I have a fairly radical cam and want to make sure I get this right. If I float the valves or break a lifter my new motor will go :boom:

Thanks - Mike

Are your lifters OEM which are non-adjustable or an aftermarket brand which may have a preload adjustment unless they are clones of the OEMs? Crane has a tutorial on their site for setting preload on adjustable rockers

How would you check the preload on Comp R lifters?
