Default Can you fit a 4.125 bore heads on stock 3.9 bore shortblock?

More than likely, I'll be switching to LS7 heads for my 427 when they become available. A friend of mine is planning on buying a budget stage 2 heads and a big cam for his C5. However he is now interested in bolting my heads if it would be possible.

I do know that I would need 4.130 bore head gaskets. What else other than that? The intake valves are 2.08 & exahust are 1.60.

Thanks

from what I have been told by AFR, just the bigger gasket is all that is needed. SHould work fine. I am doing this same thing with my 382 and the AFR 225 heads.

I am doing the same with my 396, putting on the AFR 225s. I had the get the 4.100 (I believe) bore Cometic gaskets. I have the cometic PN at home.

Thanks for the responses. So basically you guys have put a 4.125 bore AFR heads on a short block that has 3.9 bore cylinders, Iam I correct?

Besides, how soon before you get some dyno numbers or track times?

I should have my engine done by the end of the month, but won't do the swap over until July because we are moving on the first. I'm hoping to have the T56 parts put together by then too, as its going to be a bitch to carry in 1000 pieces
