Default how much gain with 78m fast intake over ls6?

i think i found a pretty good deal on a 78mm.. I cant afford the 90 TB and intake so thats why im asking. Is there a good gain on a H/C cam with just the 78mm over the ls6 intake if the price is right?

Thanks

The 78mm FAST is a good gain going from a stock LS1 intake, but if you already have an LS6 intake, don't expect any gains. Most who swap gain little to no horsepower.

If your going to spend the money step up to the 90/90 combo.

bascially this is a swap for me ls6 and a few bucks type deal.. I didnt want a 78mm or anything other than the ls6, but I was wodnering if there was any gain from the 78mm.

I may just keep my ls6 if there isnt any gain cause I can fork up 1100 for the TB and 90mm

The 78mm TB would give you better gains than the LSX intake manifold would.

The reason to go with the fast intake is the ability to do a good job port matching the intake to the heads...because of the 3 piece design you can accuratelly line up the ports. I agree that the ls6 is just as good but if you take the time the make the port transition smooth you will gain some flow.

Go with the 90 or dont bother with it. Its plenty of otehr things you can get for 1300 also.

I just did a similar swap (some cash and my LS6) for a FAST 78 and felt no improvement; but oddly enough the exhaust has a bit more growl... I wanted it for the looks, the burst plates, ease for direct port and "hopefully" get the most out of my up-coming cam install. I figured a few hundred, what the hell!
