A4 tuning... ROCK AND ROLL!!!!
im getting my Pacesetters and TSP catted Y-pipe installed next week. The same guy thats installing them is going to tune also. You guys might have heard of him, Jeff Creech in Durham, NC (Carolina Auto Masters). I was talking to him about tuning my car and he said quote "The Automatics have a Torque Management and i can make the A4's ROCK AND ROLL."
any comments on this please chime in!
He told me to tell him if i want to change my first gear change due to lockup of my stall converter (sig below) etc. any guys know what i should tell him that would improve on anything? dont forget its my daily driver
TIA guys

It's the part throttle shiftpoints that make the automatic
come alive on the street. Decreasing shift times is good.
Making the converter clutch apply with full pressure always
is probably good too if it's a small diameter converter. You
may need more line pressure to hold lock on a high stall,
small diameter converter. You will want the lockup points
rationalized to the part throttle shift profile. You want
your shiftpoints for the powerband you've got, at WOT;
you want them set for a smooth continuum of applied
power with pedal, economical at the low end and becoming
proportionally more fierce at higher TPS%. Smooth = no
surprise shifts and no dead spots.
I don't favor removing TM entirely but most do. It's there
for a reason, it just needs to be taught to mind its manners.
Some fine rock-n-rollers have choked on their own vomit...
and just when the party was going so well.
