Manual Transmission - Fucked My Tranny Up

I was driving and didn't see a big ass brick in the road and BAAAMMM hit it...tranny fluid every where. Tow truck guy said need a new tranny..What is the stock tranny for a 99 SS?? WELL atleast its gonna be brand new..Or should I get a better tranny? SS M6

check and see what is broke first, it might just be the rear seal, or the housing is cracked, price out what it will cost to fix. or check out buying a peformance built t-56 from about $1900.00 on up after core!

That's gonna cost you some good money...definitely crawl up under there to see what kinda damage was done.

So I looked under the car and there's a hole in the transmission casing. Since there gonna take the whole tranna apart should i get new blocking rings?? Sometimes when I use to downshift (only happens in 4th gear) It use to grind like I didn't step on the clutch..I got a few responses sayin it might be the blocking ring. They were also sayin that I shold get a iron fork I believe because the 99 SS has aluminum. Let me know guys
