Default worried about oil pressure

my oil pressure at idle is sometimes over 40 and other times under. Not way under but maybe 35. Is it normal for the oil pressure to fluctuate like that at idle or is it a sign my oil pump is going?

mine is different at different as well, it has done it ever since i got the car. It basically depends on how warm the oil is in the motor i believe, the longer its running the hotter it gets so the oil gets thinner this pressure goes down a tad. If its a really hot day mine will duck to 30-35, avg is around 40 at idle. Unless your oil pressure is dippin while driving, and dipping below 15-20, i wouldnt worry to much.

Fluctuating pressure based on engine temp and RPM is normal. If your car is 2000 or older and you haven't replaced the pump you should always worry, but from what I've read when they go, they just go, not gradually.

Mine does the same thing. I can drive even for an hour sometimes and at idle pressure will be a little over 40. If I am idling alot or in alot of stop and go traffic for a while sometimes it will go to 35 or so. I would'nt worry.
