Default Z06 '4', Mod/Cobra '0' and BFG DR/N2O update

On my fifth pass with new BFG 315 30 18" DR, I was able to get a new best n/a of 1.653-60' with a 11.711-et at 115.53-mph, will post time slip in sig later.

Lined up with a modded Cobra (owner stated 450rwhp) 4-times and beat him three times n/a. On the third run he got a hole shot (.632 vs .165) on me, so I clicked on the first stage n2o and flew past him on the top of run at 122mph (tech wouldn't let me use n2o cause blow down wasn't vented to outside, but did it anyway). He asked and I told him, but run what ya bring and hope it's enough. But, the point is, we both ran close (equal drivers) but the mighty Z06 and it's top end won out each time.

The BFG DR's are pretty good, however, I didn't listen to Ranger and DrRon on big hot intitial burn out. But, after I finally did a good one they were hooking up like glue. Now, this track isn't my normal track and a ways away. These tires are loose on the freeway, changing lanes at 60/85 was an eye opener, azz end wagging about. But they are staying on for now.

The Z06 in basic stock trim is an awsome "Beast". Once the track guys seen I was killing everone, they started putting me up against fully tubbed trailer race cars with funny car slicks. I gave most a run off the line, but usually got my azz handed to me.

122mph is a mighty beast? 142mph isn't too shabby, but 122mph?

So, you don't think a little dry 85hp shot (actually it was closer to 50 cause bottle was at 800psi) sprayed way late on an absolutly stock long block isn't a mighty beast. Sorry I am not in your leauge at 145+ mph, but I bet you have truck load of money into it.

Edit: actually you pissed me off, what times have you run stock, that's what this thread is about the power and capabilities of the basic/stock Z06, not some high end highly moddified Z06. Get one freaking post and you try to put me down. When writen I had less than 20 runs on this car.

Nice runs in the Z oh 6, I was very interested in how the 315/30/18 BFG DRAG hooked up when you got them hot. I have had them on my car since FEB. and have not had a chance to see how they would hook at the track. I'm glad to see that they hook real well for 18" tire.

Wow, no one has any comments on the Cobra vs Z06 thing. Or even launches or anything about the n2o good/bad?

Well, I think an 11 sec N/A ls1 is bad azz. Wish my Z was up to that level, I actually don't know what it can run. A guy in my car club just built an old Falcon Big Cubes + 175 shot. He has a video of it running 11.1 sooo I bought my first nitrous kit & am in the process of getting it all ready. Gotta keep up ya know

Nice runs Robert! It's always fun picking on Mustangs, lol....So what was the problem with the blow down tube? Where is it vented to if not outside the vehicle? Get that mess fixed so we can see some full pass numbers on the juice!!!

NX Jeremy, what I forgot to say was that after that one partial n2o run, someone told the track tech or he noticed the mph gain. Anyway I am staging and tech guy beats on my window and says turn that thing off. But I still pulled a 12.02 even after being dogged/flustered at the line. My blow down was vented to trunk area and tech guy wanted it outside the car. I have no problem at other track I run on. Oh well, just a blk head fitting and some hose. I am afraid I am going to have to get a few more parts before full bore n2o runs as I am not looking forward to breaking: strut brace, hardened output and aussie clutch. But, we'll see maybe I'll do it any way, but been warned by other vette guys running these tires and dead hooking.

I see you got n2o on your bike. Any pulls, numbers or times? How does it feel? What hp level?

I see, it's funny how one tech guy will let you get away with something and another will freak out about it, lol, oh well. On my bike I have just have to wire up the wot switch and it will be ready to run. Been kinda busy so I have not had time to get to it, maybe I will finish it up this evening. I am anxious to see what it will do, I've got the 40hp jets in it now and can still go a lot higher, but I don't think the belt or rear tire will hold much more. We'll find out for sure though, lol.

How's your bike coming along? I found a painter close to my area and so I am getting ready to tear it apart and change some things and repaint it. It's a never ending build, but everyone here already know that, lol

That's pretty good times. Putting the giggle gas on your ride will likely knock a 1/2 to full second off your ET and you'll be trapping high 120's. let us know how it goes.
