Default Tune with 100 shot dry?

Do I need to tune my car when I run my 100 dry shot (2000 Corvette). I have LT headers that are on the way soon and wanted to tune after that, but that might be a while. How much differnce in power will i notice If I was to get it tuned?

Thanks
-Steve

No you do not. Even some of the manufacturers say no tune needed, and many, many do not/have not, myself included. With that said, I would rec dumping stock plugs and going with the NGK Tr6's, and probably do a logged run to make sure your not lean or KR. Then your good to go, safety first and you'll be fine.

Go put it on the dyno and have the A/F ratio checked......that way you get your hp numbers and a peace of mind! Iam running the same kit you are about to be running....just change the plugs! I run the TR6's as suggested above.

I changed the plugs yesterday to the tr6's. I should get my headers this week. So after I install those I think I will get a tune. I hope to pick up 25/25 with the headers. I dont know how much power the 100 shot would give me.

This is good to hear. I also have the tr224 & a dry kit that I haven't used yet. I am still thinking of a new fuel pump. Now if you change injectors you have to tune correct? Why did you install 42# injectors? Isn't that overkill? I live in the sticks and don't have access to a tuner but I do have an LM1 WB. I was just going to try a 50 shot watching the WB & go up from there with possibly a new fuel pump & stock injectors. Is this dumb?

The dry kits are generally about 85rwhp with the largest jet(s) included in kit. Conservative because some of the early ls1's had 26lb injectors compared to later at 28. So, with minor mods these kits generally are safe with later model 28lb's and mild mods. But, safe is allways better than sorry. I have run dry at max jet included on 26 and 28lb cars with no issues at all.
