Default Possible problem with th400 swap in LT1

I got the new tranny in and the flexplate (Scat SFI 153 tooth) is 1/4" away from the converter (PTC 10"). The tranny bellhousing is flush against the block all the way around. I know some of the LS1 applications require spacers on the flexplate, but this is an LT1 which should not require it. Any idea what is causing this? Fixes?

My tranny guy finally returned my message and said anything between 1/8" to 3/8" is fine. Just pull the converter towards the flexplate and bolt it up.
