I thought a good wax helps prevent bad h2o spots
I was out tweaking with my car and noticed some evil looking water spots on my spolier. I messed up and gave my car a quick rinse and did not dry it before I pulled it into the garage. I left the garage open for a while and let the sun bake them in. I did a search to find out how to get them out, but it just messes with my emotions.

Water spots are the result of hardness in the water. (calcium, like what's in bones) Hard water has impurities that remain after the water evaporates. Left unchecked the hardness leaves a white haze that can damage/etch the paint/glass.
What wax will do is protect the paint/glass from being permanently etched.
