Small Pin Bearing In Oil Pan?
i posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about swapping cams and then no oil pressure, well this weekend i installed a ported and polished ls6 oil pump an during the install we noticed a small pin bearing in the oil pan, just trying o figure out what that could go to. Also after putting the new pump in it ran fine for about 5 mins with 40-45psi but when the engine got warmed up the oil pressure went back down to zero! any thoughts?

he's correct, you should probably pull the valve covers and find out how many are gone, then go hunting with a magnet. I would imagine that you sucked another one into the oil pump, take the old one apart and see what it looks like inside.

hmm, maybe a faulty oil pressure sensor? have you pulled the covers to verify that no oil is reaching the valvetrain? usually where there is one needle bearing there are more aswell. did you replace your o-ring? could it be pinched? i really couldnt see a brand new oil pump crapping out again, unless you have some **** in your pickup tube which is clogging the pump? there are literally tons of possible problems, you're going to need to take it apart again and make sure to get everything.

then your bearing are possibly taking a **** on you and you are going to need an engine rebuild, but i cant be for sure unless we get some pics. is the strip of metal magnetic?
