Closed loop is where the pcm senses if it's running rich or lean and adjusts. Open loop is where the pcm doesn't use O2 sensor feedback to adjust fueling.

there is a search button. Open and Closed Loops in Fuel injection purposes has been talked about NUMEROUS times in here.
