So I pull up to a light and look over and there was a guy who looked about 20 years old with the top down on his beemer. He looked at me and kinda grinned, so I reved but he did nothing so I didnt know if he was gonna go. The light turned green and I let off the brake but didnt hit the gas. I'd rather give him a 1/2 sec to see if he was gonna race rather then look stupid taking off while this guy turned or something. Well he took off then I took off, and from the second I hit the gas he had no chance, I made up for the 1/2 sec I gave him and easily pulled about a car and a half on him before we hit another light which was about 1/4 mile away. This time he didnt even look at me but at least his smile was gone. I felt good, there may be more and more cars out there that can beat an LT1 but we'll always have some fancy cars that think there fast and thats when we get to play.

Nice kill. I killed one in my '03 Jetta GLi VR6 once. Man was he pissed. They won't even look at me in the Snake though.

Thank God for the ability ($$$ permitting) to mod. You're right, our once mighty LT1s are falling down the food chain fairly quickly. Hell, even the Chrysler 300 has a 425 hp version. Oh well look on the bright side, at least LS1s aren't top dog anymore either. (Puts on flame suit, enters titanium concrete reinforced fall out shelter)

Some guy did this to me too except he was in a Mercedes E55 AMG, and it was more him wanting to get into my lane to cross over into the turn lane than a race. Guy wouldn't even look at me and since he came up from behind me at the light all I could tell is it was a Mercedes. I take off normal and hear him chirp his tires and think 'what the hell?' So I gun it too but to no avail he kept slowly pulling on me through two gears till he got far enough to safely swirve in front of me and into the left turn lane. I didn't feel so bad when I read it was a 12.4 sec car that stole the hit. Oh well, nice kill on the Z4 though. Wish that's what had tried to take me! With my luck it would be a Z8.

LT1's still have alot of potential. You can pick one up for real cheap, and make it go fast for even cheaper.

Its sad to see people over looking them already...
