IF (BIG CAP'S on the IF) you have all the supporting equipment, 200 should be OK. I ran 200 shot for last half of last year. I'm hoping to try the 250 some time this year.

175 here, I also have H/C and just about all the boltons. But like said above, I have a good tune plus supporting fuel system.

IMO anything over a 150 shot on a stock bottom end and your on bowered time. We've gone over a 200 shot on the stock bottom end as have other members here, a good tune (and all the support components, like fuel pump) is key to keeping it all together. Just as long as you are prepared that there is a possibility that you'll need a new motor, spray away!

get a progressive controller and it will live much longer on a bigger shot. the initial hit is usually what kills it, progressive allows you to control it.

even a 150 shot you atleast need a good fuel pump. i read in GM high tech mag that someone re-set the stock bottom end record. 9.50's w/ a 250 shot. i'm assuming they have large injectors, great fuel delivery system, a great tune and race gas... but that's just what i'm thinking. if the car is a toy and something you dont need to get you everywhere you need to go then go for it. if it is a daily driver for the most part, i wouldn't do more than a 150. and make sure you have a good fuel pump.

We have sprayed 300 shot on stock bottom end with heads/cam succesfuly(sp?) in the past. ALOT of it is in the Tune and supporting parts ( colder spark plugs, race gas, less timing)

Sprayed 200 a few times on stock LS6, with tune, inline fuel pump etc. This was done with a dry dual stage (poor mans progressive) to break up torque spike. I am now at lower level waiting on doing some drive train upgrades (read: breakage). Very doable when set-up correctly, but if you want to play, and can't pay, don't spray (big).

That was a mis-print. Currently the stock bottom end record is tied with 2 at 9.64. Next (Eric) is "next" at 9.78. I know of personally no one else that has broken into the 9's with a totally stock bottom end. All have about the same set-up. Suspension, Suspension, fuel, tuning, tires, etc. I "think" only Eric is the current one still running. The other 2 have moved on to better set-ups.

Thanks for the plug David I don't think I've fully pushed my car to see what it can do. My goal is to just go fast and props to all who do the same. I won't drop names for somebody I think that will push the stock bottom end number, but his initials are Navy David SS.

wow thanks for so much input back, it is a tnt wet kit, i am running the 255 lph walbro fuel pump and my tune is good i have ran it with ls1 edit, i have the ngk tr6 plugs, i really dont want to spend the money to get a progressive because i have a turbo kit already done for it i am just waiting on the money for the 408. so basically the only thing is pulling the timing, now would i be ok just to run race fuel and call it good, i'm only doing this at the track so its not going to be ran a lot, i just want it to end until the end of the year and then heads and cam and block are gone. thanks again for all the responses. oh and one more thing what bottle pressure are all of you spraying at?

You should be fine shooting out of the hole as long as you have the suspension and tires. Watch out for the stars - they are great to look at, hurt like hell on the way down Expect one hell of a ride. --you don't say type of tranny - shift fast - real fast I try to keep the bottle over 1000-1100. With the 150, I am running 28 degrees of time on 114 race gas. -- the gas prevents detonation not more hp.

Anybody tried running a WET 150hp shot on stock fuel pump? I've got a Walbro 255 on its way but I've got a match race lined up for Saturday night. If the pump doesnt get here by tomorrow I'm screwed.. My car is stock longblock with all the bolt ons and full suspension. I'll be running 110 octane with timing at 27-28 degrees.. Will it hold if I have to run with the stock pump?
