Default Faulty gas gauge?

I know the gas gauges on GM are probably the most unreliable things in the world, but mine seems to be worse then any other GM gauge in the world. I can drive around and put 120-140 miles on my car before the needle even thinks about moving off the "F" But then it does and it gets to about 220 miles on a tank and is usually around 1/2....then out of nowwhere I'm at 26-27 and empty. Its gotten worse over the past few months. Is it a faulty gauge, sending unit or float or whatever is in the tank?

Default

I know how you feel, I have the same problem. What I do is reset the trip and fill her up every 200 miles. I think the problem is the sending unit because sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't .
