Default b and m ripper in a 2004 gto

do I really need to put the car on jack stands to install the shifter?

no..just pull out out the center console and stuff to get down to the bare shifter...You will see 13 bolts holding the rubber boot down..That's when you know ur there

to reinstall the boot you will have too, unless you just silicone the boot down.
