Multimedia Exchange - Short Vid Me (Z28) vs My Dad (C5) - what do you think?

I made this short movie to humilate my dad on 4th of July weekend when our whole family is out. I'm burning it to a DVD for all to watch. Long story short he had been talking trash about how is Vette was going to beat me.... I don't want to ruin the ending but here it is WATCH IT I SPENT 4 HOURS MAKING THIS!:

badas vid but Im 100% sure that vette can go better than a 14.8. HAHAH. My buddies stock auto vette went 13.2 in the heat.

get a 3200 stall and run low 12's

Are you running street tires? if so, you might not want to be in the bleech box as long as you were, a quick chirp to clear the pebbles would be prime.

Also did you load the TQ at all during the run? I couldn't tell, you edited the staging.

And Air pressure. Got any idea what you ran for pressure?

my 60 ft was 1.975 - I have Nittos and I didn't really burn them at all. I also have been so afraid to spin I've been really babying it off the line. Next time my first run I'm going to do like a 5 sec burnout and then mash the pedal and see if I hook.

Also my shift points were all screwed up AND it was 88 degrees 75% humidity that day.

All those excuses add up to 12.5 next time or else.

why all those mods and no stall? 3200 and you are running 12.0-12.1

re: stall - I am planning on getting a verter in a few months - probably only a 3200 'cause it's my daily driver (I know, I know, go bigger). I feel like I should be hitting mid 12's now though, so I want to get a few more trips to the track and master the car as it is....

trust me, once you get a stall you will be pissed you didnt get one as your 1st mod. Just get some nittos drags and you will be set.

As for the stall: go for it. I also have an A4 daily driver and I'm probably going to get a 3,200-3,500 stall for mine. I've been doing a ton of research on them and have come to a conclusion: any gas mileage loss is more than made up by the extra fun they give you and the ET loss!

You won't lose much gas if you go with a lock up converter. Most of the gas loss will come from in town driving but once you are on the highway, she'll lock up and you can cruise in lower rpm.

but as the above guys said this C5 is capable of doing more than that...coz my stock LT1 97 model got 14.3 @ 156kmh :)

thanks guys - we are going back to the track next weekend along with my buddy that just got a C5 also (stock xcept for Borla). Got my pops a Blackwing too for a little help. The two of them are vowing revenge.

Unfortunately for them, even if they do figure out how to drive and get down where they should be (mid to low 13s) that was a pretty bad run for me too. My shift points were all screwed up and I should be able to carve another tenth off that 60ft with my Nittos and proper burnout. (My launch only looked decent compared to Mr 3.0)

I am definitely going to make up a few tenths this time and yes there will be a vid to rip on both of them........stay tuned lol
