yes they are. i've done it on my car. they just aren't exactly the same. but, the NOS will fit. the nytrex kit i have uses NX jets. i've talked with the owner of NYTREX and he said you can swap them. the NOS jets are just a bit smaller externally than the NX ones.

here are pics of the two next to each other. the only differences are length and at which side the orifice restriction is.
rear side of the jets. NX left NOS right. NX restricts the orifice on the rear side (neck). NOS restricts on the front side (mushroom).

i understand the longer shaft part. but, why would to different brand jets flow differently if they are both the same number? if it's a #30, wouldn't both be drilled .030" maybe has something to do with where the restiction is. NOS in the neck part and NX on the mushroom part.

also, would using NOS 71/40 jets be the reason why i'm only getting 91 rwhp from a 180ish setting? and would i get the proper amount to the rear wheels if i did use the NX instead?

No, one design flows better than the other. Like an air box, they both fit, have the same connections, yet one makes more power. 73/41 @ 55psi is what I would use with a NX system. I do not understand the nos brand stuff, maybe Robert 56 can help.

i called nytrex. this only applies to his nozzles. ken designed his nozzles to accept both NOS and NX jets. he supplies NX jets with his kits. so, for NX designed nozzles, the NOS pills may not fit properly.
letz run - i do not have a NOS brand kit. i have a nytrex kit. the last time i dyno'ed the wife's car using the 71/40, the o2s were at 1.0x mv on the top end. so, i'm sure i can squeeze out some more once i get the a/f ratio to a better level. 1.0 mv is about 10:1 a/f ratio or under. so, i'm a weee bit rich. have a dyno day coming up soon. i'll play with the jetting some.
