cam mistake (resolved)
I bought a cam from Maverick18 on here a few weeks ago. He claimed it was an MTI C1 cam, but didn't have the cam card. I got the cam in and didn't think to look at the numbers. I had a wild hair up my *** tonight and looked at it. It isn't even MTI, it is a Lunati R2SP (221,221, 112 LSA). This is not what I ordered from the guy, no is it still listed on Lunati's web site. What do I need to do about this? I already sent the guy a pm.

Just an FYI...Most "shops" buy their cams from cam companys like Lunati, Comp Cams or Crane...Actually besides comp, I'm not aware of any sponser that actually grinds their own cam. What they do is give their specs to the cam makers and those cams are "theirs" however, lunati, comp...or another larger cam grinder normally makes the cam...just an FYI.

I can deal with that, but the cam I bought was supposed to be a 222/222 .568/.568 on a 112. This cam has 221/221 on a 114 stamped into it. it isn't even the same specs.

He was on this afternoon (5hrs ago), so hopefully he'll be back online tomorrow
For reference here is the original sales thread; it does say 'MTI C1 cam': https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/335285-fs-mti-c1-cam.html
Edit: doh, beat me to it

His cardomain profile at http://www.cardomain.com/profile/99hugger says
Name: Dane
Location: Sterling Hts, Michigan
Haven't been able to find anything else without a last name.
Did he use his 'tealg' email address for paypal, or a different one? (I assume it was paypal since you don't have physical contact info)

Well I called his house today. His wife or girlfriend said that he was out of town today and tomorrow. I told her the problem and she said she would relay the message to call me back. We will see.

Sounds like you have an MTI T1/B1 NOT a C1 .....FWIW Lunati used to make the T1/B1 then they changed over to Comp Cams before they discontinued that line.
It's a little smaller then you thought you were getting......but it's still a decent cam

Money has been refunded and he and I talked on the phone. It was a mistake. Admin or mods, please delete this thread. It was an honest mistake on his part.
